Fresh Water and Brine Tolerant Friction Reducers

Horizontal drilling and multiple-fracturing completion processes have allowed economical production from unconventional reservoirs such as coal beds and shales. The large volumes of water pumped and high rates required result in high friction pressures by turbulent fluid flow. Cationic or anionic friction reducers reduce turbulence and minimize friction losses. Innospec Oilfield Services offers wide range of friction reducer formulations

HiRate series is selection of high molecular weight friction reducers designed to be added “on-the-fly” to fresh to very heavy brines. The portfolio is comprised of both anionic and cationic polymers. These single component emulsion polymers are designed to perform well in a wide variety of stimulation applications.
