Toxicological Information

CNI toxicological information covers four key health effects

Acute

  • Ingestion hazard – is low therefore CNI not classified as harmful or toxic if swallowed (aspiration into the  lung will be a problem)

  • Inhalation – may lead to throbbing headaches, confusion and possible loss of consciousness

  • Dermal – absorption through skin can lead to throbbing headaches, confusion and loss of consciousness

Corrosivity/Irritation

  • Skin – not a primary irritant, but may cause temporary discomfort in fuel packages

  • Eyes – not a primary irritant but may cause temporary discomfort

Sensitisation

  • No evidence from experimental data or field reports

Chronic

  • No significant chronic, mutagenic, reproductive or developmental effects are known for CNI
