Pearlizers
Shimmering Effects
Our unique range of pearlizers and pearl concentrates are personal care ingredients that make formulas appear rich and pearly.
Our range includes:
EMPILAN® EGDS/A*
Glycol Distearate
EMPILAN® EGDS / A is a mixture of mono and diesters of ethylene glycol and stearic acid with a high content of diester. Glycol Distearate is used as a pearlising agent, opacifier and viscosity builder in many different types of personal care products like creams and lotions, shampoos, liquid soaps and bath gels. It can also be used as a softening agent in laundry liquid formulations and as a general-purpose emulsifier and emulsions stabilizer in a wide range of industrial applications.
EMPILAN® EGMS*
Glycol Cetearate
EMPILAN® EGMS is a glycol cetearate in flake form. It is used as a pearlising agent in low viscosity shampoos, cleansing creams, liquid soaps and bath gels. This product is also used as an opacifier and oil-soluble emulsifier in such preparations as hand lotions and hand creams. The viscosity of the finished emulsion varies directly with the concentration of the ester but generally speaking 0.5% to 5.0% of the product may be used in hand lotions and 1.0% to 10.0% in hand creams.
LAUREX® CS*
Cetearyl Alcohol
LAUREX® CS is a straight-chain cetyl-stearyl alcohol, provided in flakes for ease of handling. It is a versatile wax that can be used to modify the consistency and feel of cosmetic creams and lotions for skin and hair care.
Pearl Concentrates
EMPIPEARL® XA 200/X*
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (and) Glycol Cetearate (and) Cocamidopropyl Betaine
EMPIPEARL® XA 200/X is a concentrated blend of ingredients developed to give a pearlescent finish to formulated products, such as shampoos, foam baths and shower gels. Using this concentrate will help to eliminate expensive heating and time consuming controlled cooling steps normally associated with processing solid pearlising ingredients, as well as ensuring consistent performance. Additional levels of 0.5 – 2% are typically sufficient in most applications.
EMPIPEARL® XA 300/X*
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (and) Glycol Distearate (and) Cocamide MEA (and) Cocamidopropyl Betaine
EMPIPEARL® XA 300/X is a pearlescent concentrate based on anionic, nonionic, and amphoteric surfactants that are manufactured using vegetable derived raw materials. The product can be added to shampoos, foam baths, shower gels and hand cleaning products to provide an opacified or pearlized appearance. The use of this product removes the need for expensive heating equipment which would normally be required for the incorporation of a solid pearlizing agent. It also reduces production time, thereby helping to increase the throughput of the manufactured finished product (for use with pearlising concentrates.
EMPIPEARL® XA 300 / G
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (and) Glycol Distearate (and) Cocamide MEA (and) Cocamidopropyl Betaine
EMPIPEARL® XA 300 / G is a cold processable concentrated blend of anionic, non-ionic and amphoteric surfactants. For use in rinse-off cleansing products such as shampoo and body wash. Few percentages in the formulation provide a rich and dense pearlizing effect.
EMPIPEARL® XA 400/X*
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (and) Glycol Distearate (and) Cocamide MEA (and) Laureth-10
EMPIPEARL® XA 400/X is a concentrated blend of ingredients developed to give a pearlescent finish to formulated products, such as shampoos, foam baths and shower gels. Using this concentrate will help to eliminate expensive heating and time consuming controlled cooling steps normally associated with processing solid pearlising ingredients, as well as ensuring consistent performance. Additional levels of 0.5 – 2% are typically sufficient in most applications.
EMPIPEARL® XA 500/X*
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (and) Glycol Cetearate (and) Cocamide DEA
EMPIPEARL® XA 500/X is a concentrated blend of ingredients developed to give a pearlescent finish to formulated products, such as shampoos, foam baths and shower gels. Using this concentrate will help to eliminate expensive heating and time consuming controlled cooling steps normally associated with processing solid pearlising ingredients as well as ensuring consistent performance. Additional levels of 0.5 – 2% are typically sufficient in most applications.
