Buffers

The composition of the fracturing fluid is of paramount importance for the fracture design to achieve predicable, stable results in a given formation. To achieve the expected results, the fracturing fluid relies on a variety of additives to help control the various parameters. Buffers are a type of additive used to control the pH of the fracture fluid.

GelTrol

Innospec’s family of GelTrol™ buffers offers a wide range of aqueous crosslinking buffers with a various percentage activity and temperature ranges in order to control the pH. This product also optimizes the hydration of the polymer systems and the performance of the crosslinker in hydraulic fracturing applications.
